Please be informed that the KIPO maintains its own “Applicant Code System” consisting of the name/address of each and all applicant/registrant, like an identification number. Under this system, the change of the owner’s name/address in its applicant code will be automatically reflected in the Registers for all the relevant IP rights if they (1) are integrated with the same Applicant Code by submitting “request for integrated management”, and/or (2) are registered after January 1, 2008 by using the same Applicant Code. However, the trademark registrations that do not applicable with any of the said situations, they are independently operated from the applicant code and name/address change for the registered marks should be requested on a case by case basis.
